Jacobs Surfboards Hap Jacobs and Dale Velzy opened their surf shop in 1953 making surfboards under the 'Velzy Jacobs' label. In 1960 Hap formed the 'Jacobs' surfboard label signing well known shapers/team riders Donald Takayama, Lance Carsen and Robert August to name a few. Jacobs is best known in surfing movie history for the surfboard ridden by Robert August in the surf film Endless Summer.
