Surf Hire Safety Scheme Surf Station is a proud member of the RNLI & BSA Surf Hire Safety Scheme. The Surf Hire safety scheme is a joint initiative run by the RNLI and BSA. The scheme is aim at reducing the number of surf-related incidents on the UK beaches. Surf-related accidents take up 40% of RNLI lifeguards incident time - this is their highest level pursuit! The surf hire sector is largely unregulated so it is the aim of this surf hire safety scheme to promote good surf hire practice. The surf hire safety scheme introduces a voluntary code of practice for its members. This code of practices allows people renting surf hire equipment to know they are using safe and reliable kit. As a member of the surf hire safety scheme Surf Station agree to; - Only rent equipment to suit the hirers ability - Provide safety information to all customers - Check equipment regularly for damage - Maintain adequate insurance Stay safe in the surf demand excellence from your hire centre and choose a scheme member when hiring your next surfboard.
