Bill Stewart has been shaping boards for over 30 years. He started out in 1963 with Rick James where he learnt all he could about building surfboards, painting and shaping. Bill was one of the first people to air brush surfboards and got his big break when he started airbrushing hundreds of boards for OP. Bill was hired by South Shore and then Hobie before starting his own surfboard brand in 1978. Stewart surfboards grew out of a tiny Laguna Beach surf shop where Bill would shape and hand paint boards for one customer at a time. Stewart really hit the big time in the early '80s with the development of the Hydro Hull. This is Bill Stewarts most famous shape and is sold world wide to this day. With its unique double concave and beveled rails it became Stewart's all time best selling model. As demand grew for Stewart surfboards they moved premises to an abandoned Clay factory. This factory in San Clemente, Califonia is still their base to this very day. Bill Stewart is now in his late fifties and still works extensively with his team riders to produce some of the worlds best high performance longboards. Can not see what you want?
